Our theme song! This number started as an attempt to write a 'nu-metal' song - a direct ripoff of Korn, with Marilyn Manson influences. Instead of that we got this! The lyrics were originally prototyped in between classes at U.N.O. in the early 90's, but like many other C.O.G. songs, were altered beyond recognition by the time the recording was actually done.
The guitar solo was played with a Craftsman electric cordless drill, and recorded along with all other guitars through Chris's Marshall stack. After we tracked the bass, we attempted to tune it down a whole octave to double the bridge. The strings flopped around limply against the pickups, and that's what you hear under the guitar solo. In an attempt to be controversial, I tacked on the 'Gregorian' church organ intro, triple tracking the organs through an Alesis QS6 keyboard.
'Bow To the C.O.G.!' has become one of our fans' most enduring and oft repeated catch-phrases...
lyrics
In the future, all will be happy
In the future all will sing with glee
In the future there will be much rejoicing
In the future all will bow to me
There never will be any problems
There never will be any choice
No dissent or discontent
There will only be one voice
Bow to the COG!
BOW TO THE COG!
Hail to me!
Bow to the COG, Hail to me
Bow right now to the C.O.G.!
Kowtow to the COG!
BOW TO THE COG!
Praise to me!
Bow to the COG
Praise to me
On your knees if you please for the C.O.G.!
I've got a task in mind for you
Quit your job don't go to school
Break your bones to build my dream
You're a tiny gear in a big machine
I've got what you want
I know what you need
I've got ideas between my ears
That would make your brain bleed
So
Bow to the COG!
BOW TO THE COG!
Hail to me!
Bow to the COG, Hail to me
Bow right now to the C.O.G.!
Kowtow to the COG!
BOW TO THE COG!
Praise to me!
Bow to the COG
Praise to me
On your knees if you please for the C.O.G.!
I will give you a higher purpose
I'll control your very soul
My will is yours, now do your chores
Or be beaten by a pole
But how will your lives have any meaning
After I'm buried, dead and gone
I'll build an army of giant robots
My evil plans will carry on!
So bow to the COG!
BOW TO THE COG!
Hail to me!
Bow to the COG, Hail to me
Bow right now to the C.O.G.!
Kowtow to the COG!
BOW TO THE COG!
Praise to me!
Bow to the COG
Praise to me
On your knees if you please for the C.O.G.!

These guys ROCK... and they have an awesome spaceship! This may be because we have not yet stolen the aforementioned spaceship, but of course that still doesn't change the fact that they ROCK. Consortium of Genius
